Cameron Hörst
I'm a 5.15 rock climber and Head Coach at Sender One in Los Angeles, where I'm passionate about helping climbers optimize both mind and body to reach their full potential—on the wall and beyond. I've been climbing for more than 20 years, starting at age five, and have spent the past four years coaching climbers of all levels. With a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Utah, I combine my academic background in human performance with decades of firsthand climbing experience to help others train smarter, climb stronger, and develop a lifelong passion for the sport.
My coaching philosophy combines the science of exercise physiology with the practical knowledge I've gained through years of experience as an elite climber. I use this combination to develop highly personalized training programs that are grounded in science, informed by real-world experience, and tailored to each climber’s individual goals, abilities, and lifestyle. My objective isn't simply to train harder or push yourself to exhaustion, but to train smarter—using the most effective methods to achieve your short-term performance goals while building a sustainable foundation for long-term improvement and a lifelong enjoyment of climbing. I believe the best training programs take a holistic approach, addressing physical, technical, and mental limitations while also evaluating nutrition and recovery practices to ensure that the body is properly fueled, rested, and prepared to adapt to training demands. Building a strong, resilient body that can withstand the demands of climbing and resist common overuse injuries is a fundamental part of this process. Just as importantly, training should complement—not compete with—the rest of your life. Your program needs to be realistic and adaptable, leaving room for work, family, relationships, and other interests beyond climbing. Ultimately, my goal is to help you become not only a stronger, more capable climber, but also to build a healthier body, a stronger mind, and a more balanced, fulfilling life.
“Yo man I did it. Thank you for the help this summer. I appreciate you so much. You helped me level up. Thank you!“
